Not sure this is such a good idea. I'm usually a friend of keeping
stuff "more strict" to avoid confusions.

Also changing this now could cause an obvious backwards problem: People
using newer openssl versions may write docs which rely on the case
insensitivity and people using old versions may wonder why these don't
work for them.

Independent of the case sensitivity (which likely won't be backported
anyway), patch should be noncontroversial to apply right away, right?
