OpenSSL and GCM mode

Hi,

I was wondering why it is currently impossible to encrypt a private key using GCM mode (eg using aes-256-gcm). This cannot be done using the openssl command line tool or using the library and API. This was not doable in version 1.0.2 and is still not possible with version 3. Is this a limitation or something that OpenSSL does not implement? In this case, could it be added in a future patch?

Thank you,
Chris.
