Sure, that seems like a sensible strategy.

Meaning that there actually are a lot of warnings and many of them are very
difficult (if not impossible) to fix. Fixing all of them would require quite a
bit of work and the result may be very ugly.

As an aside, the patch I previously posted is broken, so just ignore it.
